Duties & Responsibilities
Performs the preparation and cooking of a variety of foods, including meats, fish, vegetables, soups, cereals, fruits, baked goods, and other forms of food.
Performs the preparation and cooking of food for individuals following special diets using recipes developed by qualified personnel.
Helps train employees on the job and directs the work of food service workers, students, and other employees in the assigned area of responsibility.
Contributes to the creation of salads and desserts by providing assistance.
Notifies the supervisor of the required amount of food and supplies.
Ensures that there is sufficient food and supply at all times.
Records of food production are kept up to date.
Ensures that the kitchen, its utensils, and its equipment are clean; locks the refrigerator and the freezer.
Provides food in accordance with requests. Ensures the highest possible levels of cleanliness and security at all times.
Carries out additional responsibilities and duties connected to the position as required or assigned.
Attends all employee meetings that are scheduled and comes prepared with suggestions for improvement.
Maintain prompt communication with the kitchen manager regarding the quality of the equipment and food.

Abilities and Proven Capabilities
At least one year’s worth of experience working in a kitchen, both preparing food and cooking it.
A minimum of six months’ experience working in a role that is comparable is required.
It is required that you have the ability to communicate effectively with both managers and kitchen staff.
Be able to frequently lift up to 20 kilograms, as well as reach, bend, and stoop.
Possess the ability to stand for extended periods of time while performing work (up to 5 hours).

Qualifications
