A description :
At each of our branches in South Africa, AFGRI is providing the opportunity to participate in an exciting apprentice training process.
In order to fulfill the requirements for the position of Artisan, we are looking for individuals who are self-motivated, dynamic, and possess the necessary technical competencies.
The incumbent is provided with the opportunity to grow within AFGRI through the Apprenticeship Program, which includes informal training, on-the-job development rotations in multidisciplinary teams, and mentoring from our leaders so that they can learn from them.
This apprenticeship will be a year-long in-service training experience that will last for three years. A qualification known as a Tractor or Earthmoving Mechanic will be earned through this pursuit. There is a probationary period that lasts for the first six months.
This time period is utilized by both the company and the employee in order to ensure that the relationship will be maintained over a long period of time.
During this time period, any party may withdraw without subjecting themselves to any consequences.
Following that, the apprentice will initiate his actual training and be bound by an AFGRI contract. As part of this training, you will:
The apprentice will be required to attend a Practical Training Institute in order to complete the various phases of the apprenticeship (if necessary).
At the same time, the apprentice will be taught through distance learning (if it is required and if it is available) and will be written in for N subjects that are required at a college.
There is also the expectation that it will be present at classes on Saturdays.
There is a possibility that the distance learning could continue as required while at the workplace. In addition to receiving internal training from our own specialists, the apprentice will also participate in product training at the John Deere Training Facility in Boksburg and at other suppliers.
The training that was mentioned above does not incur any costs for the apprentice if they pass it; however, if they fail any of the training, they will be required to redo it both in their own time and at their own expense.
One and all of the Apprentices are obligated to abide by the contract.
This agreement with AFGRI is for a period of three years.
There will be expenses incurred in the event that the apprentice decides to withdraw from their apprenticeship during the “work-back period” or during the apprenticeship itself.
Both the time and the phase of the withdrawal will be taken into consideration when calculating the costs.
There is an expectation that the apprentice will work backwards from the time it took him to become qualified.
Additionally, the contract cannot be extended for a period of more than four years.
After four years, the contract will be terminated if the apprentice has not been qualified to perform their duties.
Among the responsibilities of the Apprentice will be the following:
Having received training to become a technician or mechanic
A repair and maintenance service for the associated machinery
Is accountable for the management of stock
