Position’s Reason for Existence:

To clean up and maintain the laboratory, as well as to assist with the receipt of specimens and their preparation in the laboratory.

Essential Conditions:

Grade 12, HPCSA Registration in Relevant Register and Practice Field, Certificate or Diploma in Secretarial Studies

Mandatory Prior Experience:

Knowledge of the Meditech system and experience working in an environment with a pathology focus

Principal Duties and Obligations:

Maintaining a clean and risk-free working environment in the laboratory requires regular cleaning and upkeep.
Maintain positive relationships with Ampath’s clientele in order to enhance the company’s image. Carry out administrative responsibilities in order to ensure that the administrative systems in the laboratory are operating effectively.
Carry out routine laboratory procedures in order to guarantee the smooth operation of the facility.
Prepare a specimen for cytology in order to ensure that specimens are processed quickly and effectively in the laboratory.

The receipt of specimens is necessary in order to maintain an effective and efficient flow of specimens in the laboratory.
