Objective

The Artisan Development Programme is designed to generate improved future opportunities for aspirant Artisans in the sector and the nation.

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 was successfully completed with a 50% pass in pure mathematics and a 50% pass in physical science; or
  • Successfully completed N3 engineering studies that pertain to commerce.
  • Unmarked criminal record
  • Valid driver’s license

FITTER (x1)

The following subjects are included in N3:

  • Engineering Pure Mathematics Science 
  • Machining and Fitting  Trade Theory
  • Engineering Drawing

DIESEL MECHANIC (x3)

The following subjects are included in N3:

  • Pure Mathematics 
  • Engineering Science 
  • Engineering Drawing 
  • Diesel Trade Theory

BOILERMAKER (x1)

The following subjects are included in N3:

  • Pure Mathematics 
  • Engineering Science 
  • Mechanotechology
  • Structural and Plating Steel Drawings
  • Plater’s Theory of Trade

Terms and Conditions

  • Medically certified as healthy
  • Complete the client screening and induction process.
  • Applicants must not have participated in a comparable apprenticeship program previously.
  • Upon completion of an apprenticeship, a formal trade examination will be required.

Skills, Qualities, and Abilities Required

  • Effective communication (both written and verbal)
  • Good interpersonal skills
