Job Description
Dis-Chem Pharmacies’ in Midrand has an opportunity available for a Biogen Social Marketing Manager to join the Head Office team. The main purpose of this role will be to develop progressive social media strategy to position Biogen and enhance presence on existing and new marketing platforms.
Minimum Requirements…
Essential:
- Grade 12 – Matric or Senior Certificate. Bachelor’s degree/Diploma/Certification in marketing, social or related field
- Minimum 3- 5 years Social Marketing experience
Advantageous:
- Postgraduate qualification in related field
- Minimum 3 years of marketing project management experience
Job Specification…
Social Media Campaign Planning:
- Develop, manage, and execute social media plans to increase engagement and web traffic and drive qualified leads.
- Manage existing social media platforms and proactively introduce new communication platforms.
- Create and ensure distribution of inspiring written or graphic content in the form of e-newsletters, web page content, blogs, and social media messages.
- Create a regular publishing schedule and implement it through an editorial calendar to plan, manage and promote specific, timely marketing campaigns.
- Create brand awareness and ensure a strong online reputation through constant engagement and well-planned, timely, accurate and platform-relevant updates across social media.
- Research and monitor industry trends and target audience personas to understand their interests and devise ideas for high-impact content.
- Drive market share by developing social media marketing plans and programs for each product and directing promotional marketing through relevant channels.
- Conceptualize and create social media marketing campaigns and strategies, including budget planning and allocation; content ideation and distribution; and implementation schedule.
Marketing Campaign Delivery:
- Create a regular publishing schedule and implement it through an editorial calendar to plan, manage and promote specific, timely marketing campaigns.
- Deliver marketing campaigns for all business areas in partnership with relevant stakeholders and ensure relevant coordination across Biogen.
- Work closely with the Biogen Social Marketing Manager to ensure all campaigns are streamlined and aligned to the business strategy.
Customer & Stakeholder Engagement:
- Engage with customers through content aimed at turning prospects or followers into customers and existing customers to social media brand advocates.
- Maintains online relations with customers by organising and developing specific customer-relations.
- Stay updated with all new developments within the organisation, through constant interactions with other teams such as advertising, product development, brand management, sales, etc. to ensuring brand consistency across all social messages.
Research & Reporting:
- Research and monitor competitors’ social media activities to ensure brand safety and success.
- Report on progress and growth of all social campaigns to senior marketing management.
- Research and analyse customer data about visits and interactions to create comprehensive reports and use that information to improve future marketing strategies and campaigns.
Team Management:
- Assess and manage the Social Marketing team to continually improve processes and outcomes.
- Promote a robust culture of accountability, innovation, and performance management across the customer care department, whilst modelling the company’s values.
- Train and guide social marketing team members on social media implementation best practices and strategies
- Assist in setting objectives for the team and tracking progress.
- Manage the team leave, overtime, and any other ad-hoc duties.
- Assist in facilitating the creation of accountable, full-service teams who understand and strive to meet the needs of all stakeholders.
Competencies…
Essential:
- Knowledge of Social Media Applications and Marketing Programs
- Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, and Outlook) & Social Media Applications (LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram etc)
