  • Examine and comprehend the driver’s manual;
  • Document near misses, mishaps, and property damage, regardless of your involvement;
  • Comprehend HST regulations and policies;
  • Minimize participation in mishaps and accidents while operating a vehicle;
  • Acknowledge the significance of safety and engage in prudent practices;
  • Promptly inform Management of any incidences or pertinent issues;
  • Familiarize yourself with all documented processes pertinent to your activities;
  • Examine the bus for nonconformities or defects;
  • Document discrepancies/defects on the checklist and notify the supervisor;
  • Based on the type of deviation or malfunction, the driver will either commence the journey or refrain from doing so until the issue is rectified;
  • Engage in the DSS session with the Supervisor and HST at the Unitrans parks and Vulcan Site; Attend training; Register passengers for the trip; Ensure the vehicle is consistently refueled and maintained in a clean condition;
  • Document and communicate all occurrences, mishaps, and accidents that transpired during a trip to the supervisor and line 84/822030;
  • Comply with traffic regulations; Comply with the customer’s SMS policy;
  • Accurately complete the logbooks.
  • Maintain a record of activities and consistently document current hours in the logbook;
  • Exhibit a constructive demeanor towards clients;
  • Do not alter your course independently or under the persuasion of staff;
  • Only make stops at locations sanctioned by the company, unless directed otherwise by your superior;
  • Access designated places while avoiding route deviations;
  • Adhere to signage and speed regulations;
  • Drivers of motor vehicles are required to remove the keys from the ignition after operating the vehicle before exiting.
  • The driver is responsible for controlling the ignition key while it is in their possession.
  • It is obligatory to initiate the operation of vehicles or equipment from within the cabin;
  • It is obligatory to secure the vehicle’s wheels with two chocks post-parking;
  • Seat belts are required for the driver and all passengers in the vehicle.
  • Possession of a valid driving license and RAC2 card is obligatory while driving;
