Conservation Assistants Description of the Job
At the Limietberg Nature Reserve, CapeNature Conservation is looking to hire three dynamic individuals to assist with administration, tourism management, and infrastructure maintenance. The positions are open until filled.
Conservation Assistants RESPONSIBILITIES:
Administration
Contribute to the completion of office administrative tasks.
The management and administration of a vehicle fleet.
Contribute to the administration of the control and management of the infrastructure, assets, and inventory.
Contribute to the process of acquisition.
adherence to the policies and guidelines established for occupational health and safety.
Production of a monthly timesheet after its completion.
Tourism management
It is important to provide and promote customer service that is both efficient and friendly.
Contribute to the administration of tourism-related physical infrastructure.
Contribute to the administration and management of the EPWP staff.
Carry out activities related to conservation
Help carry out the activities outlined in the Annual Plan of Operations (Nature Reserve operational management).
Help out with the suppression efforts of the fire.
Contribute to the care and upkeep of the gardens and the overall terrain.
Transportation for the personnel and the equipment.
Infrastructure and Equipment
Contribute to the administration and upkeep of the entire underlying infrastructure.
Provide assistance in the upkeep and servicing of the facilities.
Maintain vehicles and equipment.
Maintain tools.
REQUIREMENTS AT A BARE MINIMUM:
Qualifications, as well as Previous Work Experience
Grade 12
At least one year of experience directly related to the job.
A valid code B driver’s license.
Knowledge of computers (MS Word, Excel, Internet use).
No criminal record.
Competencies
Availability to work weekend shifts and unpredictable hours is required.
Physical capacity to carry out the responsibilities of a conservation assistant. (Firefighting)
A background in working in administration, tourism, and the upkeep of infrastructure and equipment, as well as relevant knowledge and experience.
Capability of both operating on one’s own and contributing to a group effort.
Conservation Assistants Recommendation:
At least two years must have passed since the date the driver’s license was issued.
Accredited certificates requiring experience in the maintenance of tools.
expertise in the maintenance of power tools.
Storage management.
