Job Description

Grain Field Chickens, an auxiliary of VKB Agriculture (PTY)Ltd, is a powerful role player in the coordinated broiler industry with an abattoir in Reitz in the North Eastern Free State. We offer you the chance to lay down a good foundation for yourself inside an expert, professional workplace in the open country.

Expected set of responsibilities:

To head to different farms consistently and fogging in different broiler houses as per standard working procedures. Will be out and about 80% – 90% of the time and expected to travel solo and perform the fogging of the chicken houses, independently.

Job Requirements:

• Grade 12 or NQF Level 4 equivalent.
• Code 10 permit with PDP.
• Technical background will be beneficial.
• Clear criminal record.
• Will engage with GFC contract growers on the ranches, therefore the Capacity communicate in Afrikaans is important.
• Great client communication abilities with both interior/outer clients.
• A readiness to stay at work longer than required, incl. Saturdays and Sundays.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Go to different farms consistently to perform fogging of the chicken houses.
• Fogging will be performed after the house is completely ready and prepared for chicks.
• Will be expected to disinfect the vehicle and shower in on location.
• Completion of required documentation including the pre-fumigation agenda.
• Readiness of the fogging fluid by mixing of the approved chemical at the suitable dilution into the tank.
• Expected to adhere to the manufacturer’s instruction while utilizing the fogger unit.
• Guarantee the house is ready, (for example, the turning on of the fan) prior to fogging.
• Adhere to set down Guideline Operating Procedures while playing out the fumigation from beginning to end.
• Answerable for tying down the chicken house after fumigation to restrict unauthorized access.
