Job Description

The South African Bank Note Company (SABN), a fully owned subsidiary of the South African Reserve Bank (SARB), is a highly competitive security printing company, which competes on a global scale, using the latest high-tech modern technology and machinery.

SABN is currently looking for a high performing graduate to join the Communication Department. As a communication intern you will be an integral part of the Communications team helping to create compelling content that keeps audiences informed and engaged. You’ll have the opportunity to lead and participate in projects and initiatives primarily related to internal/employee communications.

Main Responsibilities (not limited to):

  • Assist in implementing strategic communications plans.
  • Manage internal communications channels and editorial calendars.
  • Find, research and write stories about our company, our employees and our culture for our communications channels.
  • Proofread and edit various internal communications for spelling, grammar, consistency with our brand, editorial style and usage guides, and best practices for communication.
  • Maintain and update communications platforms and materials
  • Collaborate and lead within small-to-midsize projects and initiatives within the team.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communication or related fields
  • Ability to manage time and priorities
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Curiosity and autonomy
  • Must be a South African citizen
