Description of the Job
An opportunity to join the team is currently available at the Dis-Chem Pharmacies Distribution Centre in KZN.
The position is for a DC Driver with the Code 10 designation.
In addition to ensuring that Dis-Chem’s quality requirements are met, the primary objective of this position is to ensure that clients receive their orders in a timely, productive, and professional manner.
Prerequisites:
Professional Driver’s Permit (PDP) for South African drivers with a grade 12 or Matriculation
Driver’s License Code 10
Two years of experience behind the wheel in a distribution, logistics, or supply chain setting
Description of the Job:
Ensure that the essential goods are delivered to the appropriate customer in a timely manner, that they are accurate, and that they are in good condition.
Make certain that the appropriate products are delivered at the appropriate time to the appropriate retailer or client.
Follow the policies and procedures that are in place for loading and unloading at the store and/or warehouse.
Check to see that all of the TUs that are stated on the truck manifest have been offloaded at the store in the correct and accurate manner.
Take the necessary steps to ensure that all collections, store returns, and inter-branch shipments are properly checked, signed for, and delivered back to the Dispatch area.
Ensure that the returns of recyclable cardboard and plastic, as well as empty pallets and totes, are loaded and recorded appropriately.
Please check that all of the DLSs and trip sheets that have been provided to the management of the shop are accurate and that they have been signed!
Maintain a professional demeanor while acting as a representative of the company and act in accordance with the company’s policy regarding uniforms.
Perform daily inspections of the van in accordance with the weekly vehicle check list, looking for any flaws and ensuring that it is in a safe operational state. If you have any concerns, please let the Dispatch Manager know.
