GROUNDSMAN REQUIREMENTS:
Grade 10 or NCV level 2.
It would be very helpful to have previous experience working in a garden or a nursery.
Literacy, the ability to communicate effectively, and having positive interpersonal skills are all absolutely necessary.
Capability to carry out the responsibilities that are expected of them.
It will be to your advantage to have knowledge of how to use the various components and pieces of equipment that are used in gardening.
GROUNDSMAN JOB DESCRIPTION :
Mowing of Lawn Areas
This includes mowing both developed and veld grass areas.
Ensuring that plants receive an adequate amount of water and preventing the plants from perishing as a result of carelessness.
Keep flower and shrub beds weed free, cultivated, and well maintained;
Prune dead flower heads of plants in beds;
Fertilize lawn and plant beds;
Plant new mother stock material in the area;
Assist in plant propagation area;
Sweep and rake hard surfaces in responsibility area;
Maintain good conduct at all times; clean restrooms that have been allotted to DPW in accordance with the schedule.
