Job Description

RPO Recruitment’s client is looking for a Designer to join their team in Ottery, Cape Town. The ideal candidate should have experience in mould design within a Toolroom environment and possess strong expertise in blow moulding and injection moulding design.

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop moulds for rigid plastic product manufacturing.
• Manage complete projects from concept to industrialization.
• Design components as per briefs and advise on material choice and functionality.
• Manage mould trials and provide all relevant information to trial staff.
• Participate in sourcing mould components.
• Collaborate closely with toolmakers during all phases of mould manufacturing.
• Maintain and update the mould/drawing database.
• Troubleshoot component and mould issues.
• Manage various technical projects related to toolroom and production improvements.
• Initiate or participate in projects.

Requirements:

• Experience in mould design within a Toolroom environment.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks.
• Strong understanding of both blow moulding and injection moulding processes.
