OVERVIEW:

We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Digital Solutions Manager to drive digital transformation. This role will focus on leveraging technology to enhance the efficiency, effectiveness, and sustainability of managing physical assets, spaces, and services within the organization. You will blend traditional responsibilities with cutting-edge digital expertise, leading initiatives that drive automation, optimize workflows, and integrate modern tools to improve operational performance and customer satisfaction.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Industry-Specific Knowledge:
• Oversee the integration and optimization of software systems, such as CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems), mobile application and supplier onboarding and invoice submission portal.
• Implement solutions for smart building technologies including IoT devices, sensors, and automation systems for enhanced operations.
• Drive sustainability and energy management initiatives, utilizing technology to monitor energy consumption, identify savings, and promote environmentally responsible practices.

2. Technical Proficiency:
• Lead the system integration of IoT devices, automation tools, internal and external systems (e.g., supplier, invoicing systems) to ensure seamless operations.
• Knowledge of using orchestration technology like Azure Data Factory to automate data processing.
• Use data analytics to analyze data from various building systems, identifying trends and areas for optimization to improve operational performance.
• Implement automation solutions for tasks like work order generation, predictive maintenance, asset management to reduce manual intervention and optimize resources.

3. Project Management and Implementation:
• Oversee the end-to-end implementation of digital solutions, from concept through deployment, ensuring timely and efficient delivery.
• Employ methodologies and continuous improvement practices to ensure the successful adoption of new digital tools and processes.
• Manage relationships with vendors and technology providers, ensuring successful deployment and ongoing support for FM solutions.
• Identify possible gaps in current processes and provide recommendations to increase efficiency.

4. Problem-Solving and Innovation:
• Identify inefficiencies within the operations and propose digital solutions to streamline processes, reduce costs, and enhance service delivery.
• Leverage data-driven insights for predictive maintenance, reducing asset downtime and extending the lifecycle of assets.
• Ability to reverse engineer existing solutions

5. Change Management Expertise:
• Lead change management initiatives, guiding the team and stakeholders through the adoption of new technologies.
• Drive cultural shift within the environment, promoting a mindset that embraces digital transformation and technology integration.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., IT, HR, Finance, Operations) to ensure alignment with organizational goals and smooth transitions.

6. Financial Acumen:
• Use digital solutions to optimize costs associated with facilities management, including reducing energy consumption and minimizing downtime.
• Oversee budget management for digital initiatives, ensuring that projects deliver measurable ROI by balancing cost, productivity, and performance improvements.

7. Customer-Centric Focus:
• Prioritize the end-user experience, ensuring that end users benefit from improved services, comfort, and enhanced productivity through technology.
• Implement feedback loops to continuously refine digital tools and systems, enhancing the user experience and meeting evolving business needs.

8. Cybersecurity and Compliance:
• Ensure that all digital solutions adhere to data protection regulations and industry standards, ensuring compliance with relevant laws.
• Drive security initiatives to safeguard building systems, IoT devices, and user data from potential cybersecurity risks.

9. Communication and Collaboration:
• Exhibit excellent communication skills for cross-functional collaboration with departments such as IT, HR, Finance, and senior management to align strategies.
• Provide clear data-driven insights and progress reports to senior leadership, helping inform decisions and guiding strategic initiatives.

10. Continuous Learning and Adaptability:
• Stay current with emerging technologies such as AI, machine learning, 5G, and other innovations to shape future digital strategies.
• Demonstrate adaptability in adjusting to new tools, technologies, and shifting business needs to maintain an efficient operation.

11. Customer Service and Support:
• Ensure digital solutions support fast incident response and enhance service quality, reducing downtime and operational disruptions.
• Provide ongoing user training for teams and building occupants to ensure seamless use and adoption of digital tools.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS REQUIRED:

• Education: minimum qualification is a matric NQF level 4.
• Qualifications in Business Processes Engineering and Information Technology advantageous
• Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in the Digital Solutions space, specializing in digital transformation, smart building technologies, and IoT solutions. Proven success in client onboarding to system platforms, including the implementation of asset management and planned preventative maintenance programs. Expertise in setting SLA parameters based on asset criticality and ensuring effective data maintenance and cleanup. Demonstrated ability to provide comprehensive end-to-end support for both internal and external clients, ensuring seamless system operation. Skilled in training users at all levels of access on various software platforms, tailoring instruction to meet specific needs. Strong aptitude for solution presentation, effectively engaging internal and external stakeholders by understanding their requirements and delivering impactful system demonstrations that highlight the value of the proposed solution. Proven ability to perform software and disaster recovery testing.
• Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of the following software systems: Concept Evolution, Fusion, Vantage, SQL, B#, ability to successfully write and execute queries on SQL Server to extract required information.
• Understanding of Data Warehouse and data mining.
• Knowledge of building Dashboards with tools like PowerBI, Tableau etc.
• Project Management: Proven experience in managing projects as well as client onboarding and digital transformation initiatives
• Leadership: Demonstrated leadership ability with a track record of managing teams within the Facilities Management environment.
• Communication: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
• Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to develop innovative solutions.
• Cybersecurity Knowledge: Understanding of data protection and cybersecurity best practices in the context of building technologies and the systems.
