We are looking for a qualified Fitter to carry out maintenance tasks in a safe manner, guarantee the plant’s long-term reliability, and help improve the overall effectiveness of the equipment.
Main Duties:
Carry out mechanical maintenance on plant equipment, paying special attention to gearboxes, pumps, screens, bearings, and chain drives.
In accordance with Notifications and Planned Schedules, plan and carry out maintenance activities for the designated areas of the plant.
Identify and resolve problems during breakdowns, making sure that repairs are done quickly to reduce the amount of time that equipment is out of service.
Perform thorough inspections of plant equipment on a daily and weekly basis to guarantee that it is functioning at its best.
Be available to provide coverage for breakdowns that occur after hours or on weekends, and report any deviations to the Maintenance Support Mechanical (Foreman) as soon as possible.
To ensure safety in the workplace, all unsafe actions and conditions should be reported to the Maintenance Support Mechanical.
Take part in Behavioral-Based Safety programs to encourage a culture that prioritizes safety.
Use SAP to request and withdraw the spare parts you need from stores for maintenance tasks.
Keep Master Data in SAP up to date and in good condition by following work order procedures and making sure that all documentation is correct.
What are we trying to find?
A Mechanical Fitter or Fitter and Turner certificate that is recognized.
Have a Grade 12 qualification with Mathematics and Science or a N3 Engineering qualification.
It is preferable to have two years of experience in a heavy engineering environment after completing an apprenticeship.
A valid driver’s license is required.
