Position Overview
Midas is seeking a General Worker to join the branch in Vryburg.
To execute general warehouse responsibilities including inventory assessment, bin allocation, item selection, packaging, verification, stock relocation, and maintaining cleanliness within the warehouse.
Particular Duties and Obligations
Key Performance Indicators include, but are not limited to.
Binning
- Verify that the categorization of incoming goods and the restocking of inventory from bulk to picking locations is executed in accordance with standard operating procedures and specifications.
- Assign bin location numbers for new products in the appropriate warehouse area.
- Ensure that bins are updated and that stock assigned to new bin placements is reported to your supervisor and recorded accordingly.
- Facilitate replenishing operations
- Verify that all inbound items are received and inspected according to corporate standards.
Selection
- Ensure that customer and branch orders are picked appropriately to meet order cut-off times.
- Ensure that picking from bulk locations occurs solely as an alternate bin when stock is exhausted and not supplied during the picking phase or when fulfilling bulk orders, in order to prevent the disruption of pack sizes.
- Execute all reasonable and lawful directives pertaining to your work as assigned by your superior.
- Adhere to all pertinent protocols to enhance customer satisfaction efficiency.
- Facilitate inventory assessment methods
- Guarantee that housekeeping is performed on a daily basis.
- Implement thorough verifications to uphold elevated consumer happiness and avert inventory loss.
- Consistently achieve established standard operating targets.
Scanner Regulation
- Distribute scanners to all operators on a daily basis.
- Reserve scanners using the electronic application.
- Retrieve scanners from operators, examine them for damage, and record their return to inventory in the electronic application.
- Notify the supervisor of any damage.
- Finalize the daily scanner issue spreadsheet.
Credentials and Expertise
- Grade 12, comparable in Literacy and Numeracy
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a warehouse or logistics setting – Preferred.
- Knowledge of spare parts, motor components, engine parts, and warehousing systems and procedures.
Competencies and Personal Characteristics
- Must exhibit efficiency, accuracy, focus, and meticulous attention to detail. Must possess numeracy and literacy competencies.
