INFORMATION REGARDING THE POSITION / JOB OBJECTIVE
The General Worker will assist the Maintenance Team by providing effective equipment maintenance assistance, welding-related assistance, fitting or electrical assistance, and reliability. They will also follow procedures and codes and use all available support resources to increase stability and maintain the sustainability of equipment.
The Directional Drilling General Worker will assist the Directional Drilling Team by providing effective Directional Drilling support while following procedures and codes.
They will also work to improve the sustainability of Directional Drilling.
Functional Outputs
In charge of welding mining equipment using the flux core method and other welding techniques.
In charge of the safe use of welding equipment
Use oxy-fuel gas cutting equipment to cut the material and preheat it, while following the gas safety rules.
Help operate the overhead crane and lifting equipment in accordance with safe working procedures.
Make sure to accurately complete the job-specific tasks and checklist.
Conducting a visual inspection of the work environment to ensure that safety standards are being followed and reporting any unsafe conditions to a supervisor.
The use of job-specific SOPs and COPs to make sure that housekeeping standards are maintained.
Work together with your team in a way that is both efficient and effective in order to achieve the goals of the team.
All task activities must be reported.
Identifying hazards and assessing the risks of tasks.
Attends daily morning meetings to talk about work assignments.
Meet deadlines in order to support the goals and vision of the business.
Make sure to complete the job-specific task/checklist accurately.
The detection of any unusual situations and the communication of those situations.
Application of job specific SOP’s and COPs to ensure housekeeping standards are Upheld.
Help the artisan with their daily responsibilities.

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POSITION
Grade 12/N3/NCV Level 4 or equivalent (Math and Science preferred)
Driver’s license – minimum code 08
You can get a medical certificate of fitness.
First Aid Certificate (Wish)
Experience, Knowledge, and Skills:
One year of experience in welding
Ability to safely use an angel-grinder
The ability to use a cutting torch
Familiarity with underground machinery, including shuttle cars, roof bolters, crushers, and feeder/breakers
12 months Plant experience (Wish)
Ability to use MIG welding equipment (Wish)
Functional/Technical:
Knowledge and skills of the following:

Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Company Operating Procedures (COPs) Mine Health and Safety Act Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Interpret written information and work instructions
