PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF THE POSITION
Reporting to the Building/OHS Supervisor: To provide assistance in the execution of maintenance and
Maintenance of facilities to guarantee the optimal functionality of systems.
Responsibilities and Obligations
1.Comprehensive Building Maintenance
- Provide support in the routine minor maintenance of the building.
- Comprehensive Building Repairs (Including Spalling Repairs, Plastering, and Bricklaying)
- Painting of corridors and offices
- Facilitate the removal and installation of door locks.
- Installation and removal of notice boards
- Transferring Furniture Between Levels
- Provide assistance in the opening of drainage systems and the cleansing of gutters.
- Conduct quarterly inspections of the building and furnishings for maintenance objectives.
- Provide assistance with the verification of tangible assets as required.
- Upholding the maintenance of the garden and surrounding areas of the SABC Building.
- Facilitate the transfer of equipment and furniture to a designated storage location and ensure that it is properly secured.
- Facilitate the labeling and branding of the Corporation’s assets.
- Distribute stationery and other items in accordance with requisitions.
2.General Administrative Functions
- Demonstrate the ability to effectively plan and organize in order to meet established deadlines.
- Demonstrate the ability to operate in a systematic and organized manner within a structured environment.
- Possess the capability to precisely evaluate the project requirements, encompassing both skills and materials, to guarantee that the budget can be successfully attained.
- Possess the capability to guarantee the maintenance of consistent quality standards.
3.Governance, Risk Management, and Compliance
- The capacity to recognize that established secure practices and procedures within the workplace are adhered to.
- Ensure that established safety practices and procedures within the workplace are strictly followed.
- Capability to uphold hygiene standards, thereby maintaining a high level of tidiness within the environment and designated zone.
4.Inherent and Minimum Requirements
Qualifications
- Grade 12
Professional experience
- Possesses one year of experience in maintenance systems for high-rise structures.
Information and Understanding
- Familiarity with fire protection reticulation systems and associated equipment.
- Must possess the ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
- Comprehend the necessary tools of the trade.
- Collaborate in diverse environments alongside professionals from numerous disciplines.
- Candidates must be willing to work overtime or unconventional schedules as necessary.
