Objectives of the position
To guarantee the secure and punctual collection and delivery of the company’s product portfolio to customers and distributors in accordance with the procedures that have been prescribed and the procedures that have been established for providing customer service.
While operating company vehicles in a responsible and safe manner for the purpose of carrying out customer orders, the Driver will also be responsible for providing outstanding customer service to each and every one of the company’s clients.
Main Duties and Obligations
Maintain a safe driving record while operating company vehicles in order to perform collections and deliver goods to distributors and customers.
It is your responsibility to load and unload delivery vehicles while ensuring that all products are transported in a secure and safe manner.
Maintain adherence to the predetermined delivery routes and timetables, making certain that all deliveries are completed on time and in accordance with the specifications provided by the customer.
All customers should receive outstanding customer service, which includes answering their questions and resolving any delivery problems that may arise.
It is important to keep accurate records and documentation of deliveries, including invoices and proof of delivery evidence.
Make sure that the vehicles owned by the company are well-maintained, cleaned, and fueled, and that all of the maintenance and cleaning is carried out in a timely manner while minimizing the amount of money spent.
Ensure that you are in compliance with all traffic laws and regulations, and that you keep a clean driving record.
Make certain that the vehicle logbook contains accurate records at all times.
Ensure that the vehicle is kept clean and free of any damages.
When loading and unloading, make sure that the load is distributed evenly throughout the vehicle.
To guarantee that the vehicle has been inspected, the vehicle checklist should be filled out.
Both the preload and postload inspections of the vehicle should be finished.
In the event of departure, notify the Customer Delivery office.
Make sure that you always follow the rules and regulations of the road, as well as the speed limits.
Make sure that the products that are loaded and delivered are presentable and of high quality.
Make certain that all key performance indicator (KPI) measures for delivery execution are met at all times.
When you arrive at the customer’s location, ensure that they are aware of the delivery and ask for permission to proceed with the off-loading process.
Ensure that all customer complaints are handled in a professional manner and that they are communicated to the appropriate stakeholders for action, if necessary.
In accordance with the prescribed procedure, handle accidents and faults that have been identified, and report them within twenty-four hours.
Completing log sheets and ensuring that all documentation is handled in accordance with deadlines involves ensuring that all documentation is correct.
In the event that it is necessary due to the volume of work, provide assistance with the execution of devices and the management of crews on hired vehicles.
You are responsible for ensuring that all personnel are safe and that they comply with the requirements for personal protective equipment.
Make certain that there are no unneeded breaks that occur during the loading and unloading processes.
In accordance with the supervisor’s instructions, carry out any ad hoc tasks.
Requirements for Hiring
At least Grade 12 (Matriculation) minimum.
An active driver’s license that is suitable for use in a delivery vehicle (Code EC/ PDP).
The possession of a commercial driver’s license is an additional benefit.
At least two years of experience behind the wheel of delivery vehicles is required.
Experience working in the industry of alcoholic beverages is a desirable trait.
Strong abilities in providing service to customers.
A strong ability to communicate both verbally and in writing.
Capacity to work both independently and as part of a group or other group.
Driving skills that are both safe and responsible.
Possession of the ability to operate delivery vehicles as well as load and unload inventory.
