The individual in this role is responsible for operating all of the packaging equipment in order to ensure the timely and successful achievement of the packaging objectives regarding productivity, cost, quality, safety, and morale.
Principal Duties and Obligations
Optimization of the performance of the packaging machinery in order to meet predetermined packaging goals.
Check the availability of equipment in advance of the start of the operation.
In accordance with the standard operating procedures, the apparatus must be started, operated, and then shut down.
Changeovers must be planned for, prepared for, and carried out in accordance with the packaging production plan.
Finish your shift by preparing and carrying out the shift handovers.
Standard operating procedures and cleaning schedules should be followed when cleaning the workstation and the equipment.
Take part in the meetings for the shift.
Provide comments on the operation of the equipment
Transfer of responsibility to the next shift.
Maintenance:
Carry out preventative and routine maintenance on the packaging equipment.
Find out and analyze what the scheduled maintenance tasks are.
First line maintenance must be performed in accordance with standard operating procedures.
Notify the packaging technician and the team leader of any problems or deviations caused by the machines, and record your observations.
Observe the standard operating procedures for workplace safety.
Carry out activities connected to asset care, such as CILT and TPM (first line maintenance).
Concerning Your Safety, Health, and the Environment:
Compliance with the SHE standards and requirements in order to guarantee that the de-palletizing process will always proceed in a risk-free manner
Please notify the SHE representations of any accidents and unsafe conditions.
Ensure that all safe wake procedures are followed, including the use of the appropriate PPE.
Waste must be sorted and disposed of in accordance with the requirements of the waste handling programme.
Take part in various safety-related gatherings and committees.
Ensure that the department operates in accordance with the company’s safety, health, and environmental standards as well as the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
You can do this by obtaining ongoing education and training, as well as the cooperation and commitment of all staff members to observe all safety rules, procedures, and processes.
This will help you achieve a zero-accident mentality.
Compliance:
Observance of the quality requirements and standards in order to guarantee the packaging of a quality beverage
Perform quality inspections on each and every step of the packaging processes.
Monitor packaging equipment control parameters
Support all quality initiatives
Gather information and store records for future use as well as auditing.

Qualifications:
- Min Requirements Matric Certificate/ NQF3
Experience:
- Experience in the relevant FMCG industry, minimum of 2–5 years
