Hair Stylist Job Description
Various locations of Dis-Chem Pharmacies are looking for a qualified individuals to fill the position of Travelling Hair Stylist.
This individual will be responsible for a variety of hair care services, such as shampooing, cutting, coloring, styling, and blow-drying, in addition to ensuring that the salon’s product inventory is sufficient.
Hair Stylist Minimum Requirements
Standard 10, also known as the Matric or National Senior Certificate.
A certificate or diploma in hairdressing is required, in addition to previous experience working as a hair stylist.
A familiarity with the chemical make-up and properties of the substances being used, as well as the chemical reactions that those substances may be subjected to, is required (i.e. understanding chemical reactions, production techniques and disposal methods).
A fundamental familiarity with mathematical concepts
Description of the Hair Stylist Job:
Determine the appropriate beauty treatments for clients based on their hair, facial features, and needs, as well as provide clients with advice regarding their hair care requirements.
Clippers, scissors, trimmers, and razors can be used to snip, cut, and shave hair, beards, mustaches, and sideburns respectively.
Develop new looks for guests attending formal events.
When applying curlers, hot irons, curling irons, hair color, dye, or tint, be sure to follow the correct application procedures for each of these products.
When washing the hair of a client, make sure that the appropriate techniques for scalp massage are applied.
Attend any training sessions or meetings for suppliers that have been scheduled by management or the head office.
Discover new ways to style your hair and become an expert in those styles.
Maintain a current awareness of the most recent tendencies in the industry regarding hair and beauty products.
Clients who walk into the salon should be greeted and attended to. When necessary, you should also communicate with clients via email and the phone.
Give customers who are waiting something to read and make sure they are as comfortable as possible by offering them refreshments and/or magazines.
Provide the customers with hair care product recommendations as well as information about the individual products that are available at the salon.
Conduct styling product demonstrations for customers and close sales with them.
At the salon, you should advertise various services and deals, such as bleaching, conditioning, treatments, permanent waving, and straightening as well as coloring the hair.
Administration of the entire salon, including the upkeep and management of the appointment calendar as well as the client records.
Carry out responsibilities typical of a receptionist, such as taking messages and scheduling appointments.
Carry out routine stock takes of the salon’s inventory, and inform management of any low stock levels, in addition to damaged or expired stock.
All compliments and complaints from customers that have not been resolved should be escalated to management.
