To fill the following positions, the Mpumalanga Department of Public Works, Roads and Transport is looking for young people between the ages of 18 and 35 who are qualified, suitable, and unemployed.

Requirements:

A National Certificate Vocational (NCV) Level 3 in Engineering or a Grade 12 with Mathematics and Physical Science or a N3 in Mathematics and Physical Science Certificate.
Authentic South African identification book.
Between the ages of 18 and 35 years old.

Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies:

Knowledge of the construction industry as well as an interest in working in that field.
Literacy and communication abilities on a fundamental level.
A comprehension of the department’s policies and operating procedures
Willingness to participate in the National Youth Service Programme for a period of 18 months, which will involve youth development activities as well as technical and on-the-job practical training.

Applicants who live in the neighborhood or a region that is relatively close to the construction site will be given preference.
Assume responsibility for performing fundamental tasks associated with specific trades, such as horticulture, painting, bricklaying, plastering, tiling, carpentry, and the installation of doors, windows, and glass, as well as plumbing and electrical works.
Gain an appreciation for the value of work, productivity, citizenship, and the values of the workplace.
