REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum necessary:
Basic literacy is the capacity to read, write, and handle simple math.

Experience:

Sufficient driving expertise for moving people and goods.
Job requirement that is inherent:
A valid public driving permit along with a valid (C1/EC) (Code B/EB) drivers license. willingness to perform overtime and standby duty after hours.
In at least two of the Western Cape’s three official languages, effective written, oral, and numerical communication with internal and external clients.
The ability to lift large objects.
Dress in accordance with departmental requirements.
Must practice sobriety.

Competencies (knowledge/skills):

Capacity to work independently, under pressure, and unsupervised;
Willingness to accept accountability and responsibility.
Understanding of transportation laws.
Transport of official travelers, mail, packages, medical supplies, and equipment.
Perform regular maintenance, inspect vehicles, and promptly report any defects.
Observe departmental policies, rules, and the Road Traffic Act.

Ensure that routine administration and logbook completion are accurate.
Make sure that all vehicles are kept spotless.
All blood products and specimens are delivered and collected efficiently.
Medication, supplies, packages, and equipment delivery within the Hessequa Sub-District and PGWC.
Duties that support and relieve the supervisor as needed. When necessary, carry out routine administrative tasks and react to emergencies.
