During times of emergency and prearranged overtime, employees are required to work outside of their normal working hours.
Purpose of the Job
The individual is responsible for carrying out tasks and activities that are associated with the transportation of personnel, material, and equipment to and from work sites, as well as the operation of heavy mechanical equipment and specialist vehicles.
Principal Areas of Responsibility
The individual is responsible for carrying out particular tasks and activities at the Asphalt Plant and the worksite, both before and after the completion of assigned tasks.
Vehicles are being inspected for defects, including safety devices, controls, and lubricant levels, and the Senior Assistant is being informed of any findings.
Providing transportation of personnel, materials, and equipment to and from designated locations
The individual is responsible for completing the internal transactional documentation, which includes tally sheets, log sheets, progress reports, and related forms (vehicle checklist).
the individual is responsible for carrying out particular responsibilities that are associated with the operation of heavy specialized mechanical equipment (such as a Grader, Front End Loader, Crane Truck, Roller, Paver, Milling Machine) and vehicles (such as Tipping Trucks, Water Trucks, and so on).
Controlling the utilization of materials (such as sand, stone, and crusher run, among other things) and discharging or offloading the necessary quantities of materials for construction or repair work
Operators are responsible for driving and maneuvering heavy machinery and operating controls in order to operate machinery that enables digging, loading, grading, leveling, rolling, and paving, among other tasks.

Requirements :
Grade 12 (National Qualifications Framework Level 4) or an equivalent is required.
Certification that demonstrates that the individual is competent in the operation of truck-mounted cranes and heavy plant are both required.
License to operate a motor vehicle that is valid (Section EC)
Professional Driver’s Permit (PrDP) that is still valid
