We have an opening for an experienced Assistant Storeman who will be responsible for ensuring that all of the equipment is delivered to the appropriate customers on time, in the required condition, and in the correct manner.
Responsible and answerable for ensuring the smooth operation of receiving and maintaining all stock items.
You will be responsible for the following duties as an Assistance Storeman:
Perform Plant deliveries
Carry out daily material counts in accordance with the directives of the MRP Controller while simultaneously issuing and binning the materials.
Ensure that the materials are handled and transported in a careful and secure manner, then issue the materials in accordance with the issuing procedure and deliver the materials to the plant.
Materials should be moved to new storage bins as and when they become necessary.
Always ensure that the stores are secure by controlling who enters the area where the stores are located and imposing strict access restrictions.
Participate with the team in performing housekeeping duties and ensuring that the facilities adhere to the 5S principles.
Check to see that the actual stock in the bin is in accordance with SAP.
Work shifts when and if necessary, according to the requirements of the company.
Carry out the appropriate responsibilities as directed by the Stores Supervisor and the Materials Manager
Establish a risk-free workplace by analyzing and addressing the hazards that arise in the course of normal business.
Immediately inform the Stores Supervisor or the Safety Representative of any accidents, injuries, or fires that have occurred.
Ensure that specific regulatory requirements are met at all times.
Carry out the inspections, and make any necessary adjustments where necessary.
Make sure the trash cans don’t overflow at any point.
Separation and disposal of waste should be carried out.
Mentor and instruct newly hired staff members in their respective areas of responsibility.
Finish the daily deliveries after business hours. Handover of the Logbook Following Completion of the Shift
What exactly are we trying to find?
National Senior Certificate/ Grade 12 (Math & Science).
EB Driver’s License for Motor Vehicles.
Experience in both clerical work and engineering stores will be advantageous.
