Through our Apprentice training program, Sappi is providing an exciting opportunity for individuals to pursue a career in engineering.
Individuals who are dynamic, self-motivated, and possess the appropriate technical ability are provided with training that is both institutional and work-based in order to qualify as an artisan after a period of four years.
We provide a fixed-term contract that includes a competitive apprentice wage for the duration of the assignment they are working on.
We offer the following:
- A training program that has been approved for all of the components that are required to become an artisan.
- Experiential training in the workplace led by qualified artisans and engineering foremen who are supervising the training.
- Additional training that is required to get you ready for the working world.
- In order to become an artisan, you are required to take both the trade test preparation and the trade test examination.
If a candidate is ideal, they should have:
- The National Senior Certificate, also known as the Matriculation or Grade 12 program, preferably with Mathematics and Science.
- A minimum of four subjects in the N1 engineering curriculum.
