- SITE FOREMAN (Min. Grade 12)
Sappi Aquaponics Farm is interested in hiring a Site Foreman who will monitor, manage and supervise daily activities in the aquaponics farm. The Foreman is to ensure there is sustainable/enough supply of fish and that the material/equipment in the plant do satisfy quality specifications and client demands. This role is intended to give report to the Senior Nursery Manager.
The main objectives of this roles is to create a plan or scope for daily activities in the plan to fulfill fish stocking, planting, harvesting, processing and sales. The foreman also needs to create a safe environment for all parties within the plan, manage machinery and equipment maintenance, ensure all necessary recordings are done, be innovative to solve problems and introduce new solutions and ensure daily site operations are as executed as planned.
The requirements shared by the organization for the role are as follows;
- Grade 12
- “B” Average for Physical Sciences and Life Sciences (Biology)
- “B” Average Agricultural Technology gives the applicant an advantage
- A diploma in Horticulture, Agriculture or Forestry gives the applicant an advantage
- Able to analyze information and activities
- Has supervisor experience (The number of years was not mentioned)
- Must have knowledge in MS Products (Word, PowerPoint etc.)
- Valid Driver’s License (Code 08 )

- GroundWood Log Checker(Min. Grade 12)
Sappi Ngodwana Mill is also interested in the services of a Groundwood Log Checker who will manage,monitor and ensure the quality of logs sent out from woodyard to groundwood paper section. This role will report to the Shift Superintendent.
The main objectives for this role is to give assistance where needed during shut down and start up of the plant. Check log quality according to given criteria while rejecting logs that do not qualify, ensure housekeeping and safety in the working environment and stay alert to abnormal or re-occurrence of issues within plant.
To apply for this role, applicants should have the following:
- Grade 12 with Maths and Science
- N3 Pulp and Paper qualification is an advantage
- 1-3 years’ experience in the Pulp and Paper industry, preferably Woodyard Operation
