Position Overview

The Engineering Storeman is essential in assisting the production and maintenance teams by guaranteeing the availability of spare parts and consumables necessary for efficient plant operation.
This position emphasizes inventory management, the receipt and distribution of items, and the maintenance of an orderly and efficient storage area to reduce downtime and enhance operating efficiency.

What actions will you undertake?

  • Receive, examine, and store spare parts and consumables in the engineering inventory.
  • Ensure precise inventory documentation.
  • Distribute spare parts and consumables to engineering and operations staff as necessary.
  • Perform routine inventory counts and align physical stock with system documentation.
  • Facilitate the reordering and replenishment of commodities to avert shortages.
  • Systematize and categorize items for efficient identification and retrieval.
  • Ensure appropriate storage of items to preserve quality and avert damage.
  • Ensure adherence to cleanliness and safety requirements within the store.
  • Report on use patterns and inventory inconsistencies.

Expertise and Credentials

  • Matriculation
  • Experience in a comparable position within an engineering or manufacturing setting.
  • Fundamental comprehension of inventory management systems, whether manual or software-based.
  • Experience in the handling and management of engineering spare parts.
  • Prior expertise in retail management will be advantageous.
