POSITION OVERVIEW
The ADvTECH Schools Division spearheads the private education industry, significantly advancing the sustainable development of human capital in South Africa.
Principal Objective Statement

Primary Responsibilities
Academic Performance (35%)
- Stays informed about future-oriented educational trends in the Pre-primary Phase, deliberately integrating them into teaching and learning activities along with Crawford Pillars.
- Executes the school curriculum and other pedagogical methodologies to design engaging, inspiring, pertinent, and differentiated learning experiences both locally and worldwide.
- Enhances the curriculum and instructional program by rendering classes more captivating through the implementation of stimulating and engaging pedagogical methods and suitable learning resources, including technology.
- Facilitates and guarantees that the educational settings are conducive to the lessons.
- Facilitates the optimal and efficient allocation of classroom help to improve the educational experience within the classroom.
- Engages in collaboration, planning, liaison, and reflection with fellow members of the learning community on a frequent basis.
- Facilitates supplementary programs, responsibilities, extracurricular activities, and events occurring in the school.
- Offers students customized, differentiated educational resources and provides individualized assistance as needed.
- Engages in, integrates, and utilizes professional development resources, techniques, and pedagogical methods.
- Demonstrates a continuous dedication to “lifelong learning,” stays updated on pertinent practices, and is readily available for relevant growth and training opportunities.
Academic Evaluation and Documentation (20%)
- Evaluates and documents students’ progress (academic, social, emotional, and other) consistently and systematically, maintaining current records in the prescribed format of the school, so developing a comprehensive understanding of each student in the class.
- Complies with academic standards established by Central Academics and Crawford International Academic plan.
- Evaluates and tracks student performance and progress through data-driven decision-making and delineates further steps in the individualized learning pathway.
- Delivers feedback and reports to parents, Principals, and/or the Academics Department throughout the year (STASY, Inquiry Units, Others).
- Engages in dialogues concerning the moderation of completed assessments.
Management of Student Conduct (15%)
- Regulates student conduct in the classroom by instituting rules, fundamental agreements, and processes as anticipated behaviors.
- Enhances the personal, social, physical, and emotional well-being of individual students, student groups, and the entire school community.
- Offers counsel and recommendations to students and their parents or guardians regarding scholastic and social issues related to the student’s welfare.
- Identifies students with potential learning impediments and notifies relevant individuals to initiate further measures for individual advancement.
- Notifies relevant personnel and parents about the provided support and the subsequent action plan to be implemented.
School Brand Ambassadorship (10%)
- Understands and exemplifies the Crawford International mission statement while embodying the Crawford International ethos.
- Serves as a paragon of work ethic, demeanor, and professionalism. Adopting the Crawford International DNA
- Continuously enhances the sustainability and efficient operation and management of the institution.
- Facilitates supplementary programs, responsibilities, extracurricular activities, assemblies, devotions, and many events occurring within Crawford International. Participates in and assists with various school activities and events.
- Enhances the esteemed reputation of the school and its brand both internally and externally, and is immediately accessible to promote the institution at Open Days, exhibitions, and similar events.
- Facilitates the professional growth of novice educators and student interns as necessary.
- Submits articles for newsletters, school magazines, yearbooks, social media, or other required platforms.
Management (10%)
- Complies with timetabling criteria and enables their proper implementation in classes.
- Coordinates trip plans by securing the appropriate approvals and collaborating with service suppliers as required.
- Preserves and sustains the Crawford International learning space as a vibrant educational environment.
- Conduct inventory assessments of consumables and equipment, as relevant, to monitor utilization and ensure requisite availability. Restoration and substitution
- Prepares for and engages in Staff, Phase, and Grade meetings as necessary.
- Facilitate the preparation of annual budgets and subsequent spending management.
- Informs the Principal and administration when substitute is necessary and provides assistance with substitution as needed.
- Adheres to the annual and termly plans and recommends modifications if necessary.
Health and Safety (10%)
- Vigilantly monitors and oversees children in recreational and activity zones as necessary.
- Administers medical assistance as a first aid certified staff member, when prescribed or when the medical condition necessitates intervention, ensuring that all incidences are promptly reported to Management and parents through the designated channels.
- Monitors and inspects the classroom and play areas for hazardous objects or conditions, eliminates or cordons off dangers where feasible, and promptly reports safety concerns to the school leadership team.
- Continuously raises awareness of personal safety and social issues among pupils.

Minimum Requirements
- Post Matric Certificate (NQF Level 5) in Early Childhood Development for Grades 0000-000;
- Degree (NQF Level 6) in Early Childhood Development or equivalent. Education (Foundation Phase)
- PGCE for degrees considered appropriate for a Pre-Primary educator, such as Psychology.
- Valid SACE certificate;
- Police Clearance
Preferred Qualification:
- Degree (NQF level 6) in Early Childhood Development or Bachelor of Education (Foundation Phase)
Minimum Experience Required
- 2 to 5 years of instructional experience.
- One-year teaching internship (subject to the Principal’s discretion)
