Job Description
ADvTECH is the biggest private school in Africa, and they are dedicated to making people’s lives and careers better.
The goal of ADvTECH’s School Division’s academic plan is to make sure that every student masters the material in a way that is gradual, exciting, interesting, and difficult. ADvTECH is home to a number of well-known school names that offer IEB,
Cambridge, and IB curricula.
It also offers an online homeschooling delivery option.
Duties
To make sure that all of the students in their care are as emotionally, socially, and intellectually healthy as possible, Senior Phase Educators will plan, teach, and grade a rigorous and appropriate academic program for each student in their class.
They will help students make important choices about what subjects to study and will make the classroom a positive place to learn that motivates and pushes students to reach their full potential.
What they’ll need is:
- To provide a future-focused education that inspires, motivates, and challenges students;
- To always show strong character, honesty, and professionalism; to build and keep positive, long-lasting partnerships with coworkers, parents, guardians, and community members;
- To talk to and work with everyone in the learning community in a kind, respectful, and open-minded way.
They will be responsible for the following specific parts of their work:
- Delivery to Schools
- Reporting and evaluating academic work
- Managing student behavior,
- Being a school brand ambassador,
- Administration,
- Health and safety,
Qualifications and Experience
- You need a degree (NQF level 7) and either a PGCE or a B. Education (Senior Phase or FET), and if you want to teach a specialized field,
- You might also need a specialized degree.
- You also need SACE certification and a police clearance.
- 2 to 5 years Experience as a teacher
- 2 to 5 years If needed, teaching a specialized subject
- Computer and digital skills
- First aid
Skills and Traits Needed
- A lifelong student who keeps doing their own research, thinking, and acting to improve their teaching and learning and keep up with changes in education around the world
- Planned and organized things well, paying close attention to details
- Outstanding people skills, along with strong written and spoken communication and speaking
- A track record of handling business situations with maturity and high EQ
- Professional ability to handle time is a must for the job.
- Shown proof of the ability to think clearly and solve problems in the right way
