Job Description
The occupant will be responsible for taking requests and deliver food and refreshments to clients serving clients, providing detailed information on menus, performing multiple tasks various front-of-the-house duties.
Education and Experience required:
• Minimum of 1 year experience as a waiter in catering environment is essential
• Matric is essential
• Experience in a hotel environment will be a benefit
• Butler or Housekeeping experience
Knowledge, Abilities and Competencies:
• Information on and consistence with sanitation norms.
• Proven work experience as a waiter or waitress
• Active experience with cash register and ordering information system
• Essential numerical abilities
• Mindfulness and persistence for clients
• Astounding presentation abilities
• Solid organisational and performing multiple tasks abilities, with the ability to perform well in a speedy environment
• Undivided attention and successful communication abilities
• Team spirit
• Adaptability to work in shifts
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
• Welcome and escort clients to their tables
• Present menu and give detailed information when asked (e.g., about portions, ingredients, or potential food allergies)
• Prepare tables by setting up lines, silverware, and glasses
• Inform clients about the day’s specials
• Give menu suggestions upon request
• Up-sell extra items when appropriate
• Take accurate food and beverages orders, utilizing a POS ordering software, request slips or by memorization
• Convey order details to the Kitchen Staff
• Check at dishes and kitchenware for cleanliness and presentation and report any issues
• Organize table settings and keep a clean eating region
• Convey checks and collect bill payments
• Carry dirty plates, glasses, and silverware to kitchen for cleaning
• Meet with restaurant staff to review everyday specials, changes on the menu and administration determinations for reservations (e.g., parties)
• Follow all applicable wellbeing division guidelines
• Give astounding client support to visitors
