The six coal mines operated by Sasol Mining provide feedstock for the integrated value chain that we have established in Southern Africa.
The majority of the coal that is delivered to Secunda Synfuels Operations (SSO) is put to use as a feedstock for gasification, while the remainder is utilized to produce electricity.

The Sasolburg Operations (SO) uses the coal that is delivered to it in order to create both electricity and steam. Through the Twistdraai Export Plant’s connection to the Richards Bay Coal Terminal, we also provide our overseas clients with coal for use in power generation.

IN REGARD TO THE FUNCTIONS AND AIM OF THE POSITION

This Maintenance Operator will provide support to the Maintenance Team by effectively assisting with the maintenance of equipment and maintaining reliability while adhering to procedures and codes. The end goal of this support is to increase stability and maintain the equipment’s capacity for long-term use.

FUNCTIONAL OUTPUTS

Accurately complete all of the job-specific tasks and checklists.
Visual examination of the working environment, with the goal of confirming that safety standards are being followed and communicating any potentially hazardous working situations to higher-ups.
Implementation of job-specific standard operating procedures and operating procedures to guarantee that housekeeping standards are maintained

Participate effectively and efficiently as a member of a team in order to move toward the achievement of the team’s goals.
Aware of the ways in which your activities may effect the expenses incurred by your team, seek out and implement projects that will save money.
Make sure to report all of the task actions.
Help the craftsman with the challenges they face on a daily basis.

Qualifications and experience necessary, as stated in the job requirements (Must)

Grade 12/N3 Qualifications
Science and mathematics (Advantage)
able to get a certificate of physical fitness issued by a doctor
Driver’s license in good standing (Advantage)
Capable of obtaining a certificate in first aid
Information on the mining industry (wish)
12 months factory experience on conveyors (Wish)
