Description of the Job
Anova is a non-governmental organization that works to improve people’s lives and empower them.
What drives us to provide solutions for healthcare and support to those who have the greatest need for it is the desire to improve people’s quality of life and their overall health.
For the purpose of ensuring ongoing retention in care and adherence to antiretroviral therapy (ART) and pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP), as well as correct facility-based monitoring and safe feeding choices, we are looking for fifteen VTP Peer Counsellors to provide support to all pregnant and breastfeeding women, as well as their partners and family members, regardless of their HIV status.
Peer counsellor education services are intended to be provided to women and their male partners who are accessing maternity services (antenatal or postnatal) in relation to the promotion and support of safe feeding, as well as the continuation of antiretroviral therapy (ART) or pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP).
Obligations:

Obligations of the Job:
Community health worker who has received training in home-based care, the promotion of safe feeding choices, the fundamentals of antiretroviral therapy and pre-exposure prophylaxis, and adherence support through individual case management or the post-natal club model (depending on the influx of clients).
Have Matric
Instruction in HIV counseling, adherence counseling, finger pricking, and basic HIV and AIDS, sexually transmitted infections, and tuberculosis (HAST) training.
The counseling for ROTF support.
It would be beneficial to have a certificate in couple counseling, RTCQI, disclosure, and pediatric consent.
At least one to two years of experience working as a counselor for HTS personnel
Additional technical abilities are required:
A familiarity with the guidelines and protocols established by the Department of Health
A general understanding of health education A general understanding of the guidelines and counseling messages for the tuberculosis, HIV, and PMTCT programs
Competences in counseling
