Job Description
The warehouse department at Parts Incorporated Africa in Bloemfontein is currently seeking two General Workers.
The position is designed to execute general warehouse responsibilities, including stock taking, binning, picking, packing, checking, moving stock, and ensuring that the warehouse is consistently tidy.
Role Specific Responsibilities
Binning
- Guarantee that the binning of incoming merchandise and the replenishment of inventory from bulk to select locations are conducted in accordance with standard operating procedures and requirements.
- Guarantee that bin location numbers are assigned to new products in the appropriate warehouse area.
- Ensure that the stock allocated to the new receptacle locations is reported to your superior and updated.
- Assist in replenishment operations
- Ensure that all incoming products are received and inspected in accordance with the company’s standards.
Selecting
- Guarantee that customer and branch orders are being collected in a timely manner to meet the order cut-off times.
- Ensure that choosing from bulk locations is only conducted as an alternative bin when stock is depleted and not replenished during the picking phase or when picking bulk orders to prevent the breakage of pack sizes:
- Execute all reasonable and lawful instructions regarding your work that are provided to you by your superior.
- In order to optimize customer fulfillment, adhere to all pertinent protocols.
- Assist in the process of stock taking
- Guarantee that housekeeping is performed on a daily basis.
- Ensure that double checks are conducted to prevent inventory loss and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Guarantee that the established operational objectives are consistently met.
Control of the Scanner
- Distribute scanners to all operators on a daily basis.
- Utilize the electronic application to reserve scanners.
- Receive scanners from operators, inspect them for damage, and restock them on the electronic application.
- Inform the supervisor of any damage.
- Completion of the daily scanner issue spreadsheet is required.
Experience and Qualifications
- Grade 12, equivalent in terms of literacy and numeracy
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in a warehouse or logistics environment.
- Knowledge of warehouse systems and procedures, as well as spares, motor, and engine parts, is desirable.
