Requirements for the Post:
Candidates must show that they are capable of performing the essential duties unique to the position;
possess the ability to speak and understand at least two of the official languages, English being one of them;
You have to be a South African citizen.
It is necessary that the person in question has never before been found guilty of any crimes or departmental criminal cases;
A screening procedure that includes security screening and fingerprint verification will be used to make sure that applicants are qualified.
Be in possession of a National Certificate (Vocational) or Senior Certificate (Grade 12), both of which are recorded on the National Learner Record Database at the National Qualifications Framework level 4;
Participation in the Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority (PSIRA) registration process;
Be in possession of a security certificate that is at least of the Grade C status or higher;
Having not been shown to be unfit to possess a firearm;
Be willing to participate in training to improve your firearms skills;
Remain willing to maintain your proficiency with firearms;
It is required that you do not have any criminal records or pending cases regarding the department;
Having a degree or diploma in the field of security will be added to your list of qualifications;
In addition to having a valid driver’s license for at least a light motor vehicle, candidates who have completed relevant courses in the field required for the position will be given an advantage.
Ensure that you are willing to work extended hours and shifts.
Essential Functions:
The Control of Access to Public Premises and Vehicles Act (Act No. 53 of 1985) should be followed in order to carry out the Access Control procedure.
Identification of employees, visitors, and contactors at the security access point in a positive manner;
Electronic searching of employees, visitors, and contractors, as well as registration of employees, visitors, and contractors;
It is necessary to grant permission for employees, visitors, and contractors to enter the premises after meeting all of the legislative requirements.
It is also necessary to confirm visits with the hosts and ensure that escorting is carried out in accordance with the prescribed procedures.
It is necessary to provide visitors with admission control cards and then collect them back.
Ensure that the required visitor’s register is kept;
In order to guarantee that the safety of the premises will not be jeopardized under any circumstances, it is imperative that suppliers, articles, and objects be thoroughly examined before they are permitted to be brought into the premises.
Patrol the buildings and the areas that are fenced off;
Ensure the safety of vehicles and equipment while they are out in the field, but only from a security perspective;
Make sure that all of the security equipment and facilities are checked, and take action when it is required;
Please bring to the attention of senior security personnel any deficiencies or problems that pertain to matters of security regarding the situation.

Every candidate who has been shortlisted will undergo a fingerprint screening process.
Candidates who have been shortlisted for appointment to specific positions will undergo background checks in accordance with the Children’s Act of 2005 (Act No. 38 of 2005) and the Criminal Law Amendment Act of 2007 (Act No. 32 of 2007).
Those with prior convictions are not permitted.
A candidate who makes the short list should anticipate going through a personal interview and getting cleared for security.
The Public Service Act of 1994 (Act 108 of 1994) and the South African Police Service Act, 1995 (Act 68 of 1995), as they relate to the post-environment, will govern the appointment process.
