General Worker Job Description

Parts Incorporated Africa is looking to add General Workers to their team in Nelspruit, and you could be the one!
This position’s primary responsibility is to carry out a variety of general tasks, including merchandising and receiving, amongst others.

General Worker Requirements

Grade 12 / Matric certificate is essential
Computer literate
Be truthful and demonstrate moral rectitude.
Competence in speech and listening
Capacity to perform well under adverse conditions
Clear criminal record

The following items will be included on the Key Performance Indicators, but this is not an exhaustive list of the items that will be considered:

BINNING / RECEIVING

Ensure that the applicable standard operating procedures and requirements are followed when sorting incoming goods into bins and when replenishing stock from bulk to pick locations.
This includes ensuring that the procedures are carried out in the correct order.
Make sure that new products are stored in the right area of the warehouse and are labeled with the correct bin location numbers.
You need to make sure that the bins are always kept up to date and that your superior is aware of the stock that has been moved to the new bin locations.
Make a contribution to the smooth operation of the replenishment system
Ensure that each and every incoming shipment is received and inspected in accordance with the standards set forth by the company.

WHEN PICKING

In order to make sure that you are able to meet the order cut-off times, you need to make sure that orders from both customers and branches are picked in a timely manner.
In order to prevent the breakage of pack sizes, you should make sure that picking from bulk locations is only done as an alternative bin when stock is depleted and not replenished in the picking phase, or when picking bulk orders.
You have an obligation to carry out the work in accordance with any and all reasonable and legal instructions that have been given to you by your superior in connection with the job.

Make sure that all relevant procedures are followed in order to achieve the highest possible level of satisfaction for your customers.
Take part in the activities surrounding the taking of stock.
It is imperative that you take care to clean the house on a daily basis.
Make sure that you perform double checks in order to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction and to prevent the loss of inventory.
This can be accomplished by carefully reviewing all of your work.
Make it a point to check that the operational standards that have been established are being met on a regular basis.

SCANNER COMMAND CENTER

Daily distribution of scanners should be made to all of the operators.
Make reservations for scanners using the mobile app.
Receive scanners that have been returned by operators, check each scanner to ensure that it is in working order, and then book it back into stock using the appropriate electronic application.
Notify the manager of any damage that has occurred.
Fill out the spreadsheet containing the daily scanner issues.
