Short Description / Purpose of Job
An Artisan supports production by providing effective instrumentation maintenance and responsibility whereas adhering to procedures/codes, and utilising all obtainable support resources to extend stability and maintain property of the plant
Recruitment Description / Key Accountabilities
Proven competency in pre-identified areas per discipline of the plant/mine/equipment/systems
Understand and use the plant maintenance documentation system
Understand designing work management system
Relevant plant/mine specific/basic method data (defined per discipline)
Compliance of Safety Management Systems e.g. IMS, MBO, etc.
Able to apply emergency procedures
Read, interpret, and implement task risk assessment
Hazard identification/task risk assessments
Participates in daily morning conferences to debate work assignments
Support the goals and vision of the business by meeting deadlines
Provides adequate feedback to supervisor on work progress
Participates in root cause analyses, and provides feedback to RCA groups
Participates in risk assessments per legislation and company needs to enhance safety
Maintains smart housework and adheres to waste disposal procedures
Share data with junior artisans in legendary environment/context
Participates in quarterly performance appraisal with cluster leader to enhance personal development
Identifies personal coaching and development desires, and incorporates into PDP with cluster leader’s approval
Lead by example (walks the talk)
Assists with the event of works directions to develop the next level of employees competence
Take the lead in team efforts/tasks
Able to act as cluster leader (if acceptable to career path)
Contribute to overall maintenance strategy and direction
Mentor learners/artisans informally
Conducts My IMS (physical inspections to keep up and improve plant sustainability)
Work effectively in a very team
Attends and interacts in PDAs and RCAs to enhance plant safety and stability
Provides adequate feedback to cluster leader or designing officer on work progress
Ensures the proper history feedback is captured to enhance renewals/ upgrades and significant spares ar replaced
Gives input at “toolbox talks” to enhance plant safety
Formal Education
Grade 12 with Maths and Science and NQF4 trade check
NQF4 qualification (CHIETA/MQA preferred)
