ABOUT THE ROLE / PURPOSE OF THE WORK
This maintenance worker supports the maintenance team by providing effective assistance with equipment maintenance and reliability while adhering to procedures/codes to increase stability and maintain equipment sustainability.
FUNCTIONAL OUTPUTS
1. Accurately complete job-specific tasks/checklist.
2. Visually inspect the work environment to ensure safety standards are being met and report unsafe conditions to supervisor.
3. Apply job-specific SOPs and COPs to ensure budgetary standards are met.

5. Understand how your actions affect your team’s costs, identify cost-saving initiatives, and act accordingly.

Qualifications:
- Grade 12/N3/NCV Level 4 with Math and Science
- Level 2 Mechanically complete (desire)
- First Aid Certificate
- Can obtain a medical certificate
- 5 gases/Competent A or B
Specific experience required
-12 months underground coal mining experience (Wish)

2. Artisan Gr2 Fitter ( Secunda, Mpumalanga)
PURPOSE OF WORK
An artisan assembler supports production by providing effective equipment maintenance and reliability in compliance with procedures/codes and utilizing all available support resources to increase stability and maintain plant sustainability. This includes stripping and rebuilding underground sub-assemblies and machinery to help Sasol Mining achieve its goals.
FUNCTIONAL OUTPUTS
Demonstrated competency in pre-identified areas per discipline of facility/mine/equipment/systems (demonstrated application of artisan class training
Understand the planning work management system
Compliance with safety management systems, e.g. IMS, MBO etc.
use emergency procedures
Read, interpret and implement risk assessment of tasks
Hazard identification/risk assessment of the task
Attends daily morning meetings to discuss work assignments
Support the company’s goals and vision by meeting deadlines
Provides supervisor with appropriate feedback on work progress
Participates in root cause analysis and provides feedback to RCA teams
Participates in risk assessments according to legal and operational requirements to improve safety
Executes instructions on neatness and housekeeping
Identifies personal training and development needs and integrates them into PDP with group leader approval

Performs My IMS (physical inspections to maintain and improve the sustainability of the facility)

REQUIREMENTS: Required qualifications and expertise (must)
- Certified craftsman (fitter exam and apprenticeship)
- Has or can have Valid red ticket
- First Aid Certificate
- 5 years of relevant technical experience (desirable)
- Experience in overhauling underground mining machinery (desired)
- National Senior Certificate / Full N3 / NCV Level 4 with Maths, Science and English / Business English
